Its scalloped body features punched decorative motifs and raised bosses that highlight its handcrafted character. A substantial arched handle with curled supports complements the flowing silhouette, while the flared pedestal base provides a balanced foundation. The combination of expressive metalwork and visible hammering gives the basket a distinctive artisan quality. Presented in Original Vintage Condition, the piece retains its naturally developed patina and period character and has been carefully inspected by our studio for stable construction and overall integrity.

Fun Historical Fact

Arts & Crafts metalwork emphasized traditional craftsmanship and the visible hand of the maker. Copper became especially popular because it could be hammered, shaped, and decorated while retaining a warm, expressive surface. Hand-hammered objects often celebrated subtle irregularities rather than the uniformity of machine production. Decorative copperwork remained popular into the early 20th century as Arts & Crafts traditions continued to influence American interiors.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0509/1272/3144/files/1_51626a9a-def0-44fc-9214-0b0bf3152775.jpg?v=1791396357
https://vintagesupplystore.com/products/american-arts-crafts-hand-hammered-copper-pedestal-basket-c-1930s
