The sculptural pedestal base is supported by carved paw feet fitted with brass casters, while the case offers multiple storage areas, including an unusual removable pull-out box that may have originally been used for sewing notions, personal accessories, or other small valuables. A brass skeleton key is included and properly operates the locking mechanism on the upper drawer; the lower drawer opens and functions normally, although its lock mechanism is no longer operational. Our restoration studio has carefully inspected the piece to ensure the drawers, removable box, base, casters, and structural components are functioning properly, while intentionally preserving the original aged surface and antique character.
