The transparent Lucite creates a striking sense of movement and dimension, capturing and refracting light throughout its dramatic open form. Polished chrome accents complement the clarity of the Lucite, while the fabric shade provides a soft counterpoint to the highly sculptural base. The lamp has been newly rewired and fitted with a new socket, new harp, and new shade for reliable modern functionality while preserving the character of the original vintage structure. Its substantial proportions and fluid silhouette make it a distinctive statement piece for both Hollywood Regency and eclectic modern interiors.

Fun Historical Fact

Lucite became an especially fashionable decorative material during the 1960's and 1970's as designers explored transparent furniture and lighting that could create visual impact without appearing visually heavy. During the 1970's, dramatically curved acrylic forms were particularly well suited to the glamorous interiors associated with Hollywood Regency design. The material's optical clarity allowed lighting designers to experiment with reflections, refractions, and sculptural forms that changed appearance depending on the surrounding light.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0509/1272/3144/files/1_bc5edc18-a55f-4b94-a014-87185a6c61b9.jpg?v=1789770326
https://vintagesupplystore.com/products/hollywood-regency-sculptural-curved-clear-lucite-table-lamp-c-1970s
