The contrasting woods create a striking horizontal rhythm across the façade while eliminating the need for applied hardware. A clean rectangular case rests on a recessed apron and tapered legs, giving the substantial storage piece a light, elevated profile. Each drawer features dovetail joinery and provides generous storage while maintaining the dresser’s streamlined Mid-Century Modern appearance. Expertly refinished, the wood has been restored to reveal the depth, variation, and natural grain of both walnut and rosewood.

Fun Historical Fact Bassett Furniture was founded in Bassett, Virginia, in 1902 and became one of the most prominent names in American furniture manufacturing. By the middle of the twentieth century, the company had grown into one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wood furniture. Bassett’s 1960s collections often balanced practical storage with fashionable modern details designed for the rapidly changing American home. The dramatic rosewood accents on this dresser reflect the era’s enthusiasm for combining contrasting exotic and domestic woods to give mass-produced furniture a more luxurious, custom appearance.

Expertly Refinished: With over 15 years of experience, our workshop has followed a careful process of restoration, showcasing our passion and creativity for vintage designs that can seamlessly be incorporated with many interior decors.
