Description: Titled “Carnival Fever”, this vibrant serigraph by Nigerian master Muraina Oyelami bursts with kinetic energy and rhythmic color. Created in the 1960s, the composition features abstracted figures and bold geometric forms evoking the celebratory atmosphere of a cultural procession. Rendered in striking layers of saturated hues—emerald, tangerine, maroon, and azure—the piece draws the eye across its dynamic surface with expressive movement and emotional depth. This limited edition print (131/275) is hand-titled and signed by the artist and presented in its original vintage condition within a gold metal frame and linen mat. Oyelami’s deep roots in Yoruba culture and the Osogbo Art Movement give this piece an unmistakable sense of tradition fused with modernist abstraction.
Fun Historical Fact: Muraina Oyelami was one of the first visual artists of the Osogbo school, an influential Nigerian art movement nurtured by German scholars Ulli and Georgina Beier in the early 1960s.
