Description: This sculptural porcelain lamp embodies the elegance of Italian Neoclassical design, featuring a richly detailed urn form adorned with a lively figural scene that wraps gracefully around the body. The composition captures a sense of movement and celebration, with dancing figures and expressive faces rendered in high relief, giving the piece a theatrical, almost story-like presence from every angle. Crafted in the Capodimonte tradition, the glazed porcelain surface showcases a refined technique where soft pastel tones are carefully applied and fired to achieve depth, luminosity, and subtle contrast against the creamy white ground. The form is beautifully anchored by a cast brass base with a warm patina, while the slender stem and original decorative finial add a sense of vertical elegance and continuity. Paired with a newly added linen shade, the lamp balances old world artistry with a clean, timeless presentation, remaining in original vintage condition.
Fun Historical Fact Capodimonte porcelain originated in Naples, Italy in the 18th century under royal patronage, where artisans developed advanced techniques for sculpting highly detailed figural scenes directly into porcelain rather than simply painting them. This tradition became especially admired for its ability to capture motion, emotion, and storytelling in a single object, often inspired by classical mythology and pastoral life. By the mid-20th century, Italian makers revived these techniques, blending historic craftsmanship with decorative lighting to bring classical art into everyday interiors. The intricate glazing process required multiple firings, allowing each color and detail to settle into the surface with remarkable depth and durability. Pieces like this reflect not only decorative beauty, but a continuation of centuries-old artistic expression rooted in Neapolitan porcelain making.

They love us
I was so pleased to find the exact coffee table I've been hunting at Vintage Supply Co. I hesitated to buy it bec they are in CA and I'm in Fl but they had restored it already, and both the price and shipping cost was the best I had found. I'm so glad I did. We exchanged several emails helpful emails after I purchased it, I was contacted by the delivery company about when it would arrive, and it was delivered in perfect condition. I'm really happy with it.

We ordered a chandelier from their site. They were very responsive to emails regarding details about he chandelier, and they were helpful throughout the entire process. The chandelier came double boxed in thick walled boxes and packing peanuts, and it looked exactly the same as it did on the website. We love it and, due to their great customer service, we will likely be ordering more from them as we continue to decorate our home.
