Description: This American Chippendale Revival highboy dresser, dating to the 1900's, features a traditional two-piece construction with a separate upper drawer case resting securely on the lower base. The tall upper section provides generous storage, while the lower case is distinguished by a carved fan motif, shaped apron, and additional drawers accented with ornate brass hardware. Graceful cabriole legs terminate in boldly carved paw feet, giving the substantial form an elegant and distinctive presence. The two-piece configuration reflects traditional highboy construction while also allowing the sections to be separated for easier placement and transport. Presented in Original Vintage Condition, the highboy retains its naturally aged character and has been carefully inspected by our studio for stable construction, secure joints, smooth drawer operation, and overall functionality.

Fun Historical Fact

Highboys became an important form of tall storage furniture in Britain and colonial America during the 18th century. Many were constructed in two separate sections, allowing cabinetmakers to achieve impressive height while keeping the furniture practical to move. Chippendale-inspired designs became recognizable for their cabriole legs, shaped aprons, decorative brass hardware, and elaborate carved feet. During the early 20th century, the renewed interest in historic American interiors brought these traditional forms back into prominence through Chippendale Revival furniture.
