Description: This antique Victorian Eastlake-style parlor table, dating to the early 1900's, combines richly toned walnut with a substantial round white marble top for an elegant period presentation. The sculptural tripod base features a turned central pedestal surrounded by pierced and shaped walnut supports, decorative finials, and gracefully curved feet that reflect the enduring influence of nineteenth-century Eastlake design. A deeply molded circular apron beneath the marble adds architectural dimension and complements the elaborate turned and carved details of the base. The softly veined white marble creates a refined contrast against the walnut while providing a durable surface well suited for use as a parlor, side, or accent table. Produced after the height of the original Eastlake movement, the table demonstrates how its distinctive Victorian vocabulary continued to influence American furniture around the turn of the twentieth century.
Fun Historical Fact
The Eastlake movement takes its name from British architect and design writer Charles Locke Eastlake, whose influential 1868 book Hints on Household Taste helped shape furniture and interior design during the later Victorian era. Eastlake-inspired furniture became especially popular in the United States during the late 1800's, recognizable for its turned elements, architectural ornament, incised details, and emphasis on visible craftsmanship. The style remained influential into the early 1900's, when furniture makers continued producing pieces that incorporated many of the movement's distinctive Victorian design elements. Marble-topped parlor tables remained desirable household furnishings during this period, combining an elegant decorative presence with a practical surface for lamps, flowers, books, and ornamental objects.

They love us
Fernando’s assistance made me feel like the most important customer in the world! But I have no doubt he makes everyone feel that way. The gorgeous restoration work of the three original Midcentury Modern pieces I purchased looked even better in person than in pictures, and they arrived more quickly than I expected even though they were carefully shipped by truck all the way to New York. I will be forever grateful to Vintage Supply for elevating my home.

I am incredibly happy with my experience. The company was responsive to my questions when shopping, able to provide more information, pictures, and gave me alternatives when there was some concerns about desk and seat fitting. Once purchased, they worked with me for delivery and were willing to hold my purchase over a month until I was able to accept without any difficulties.
I will absolutely purchase from this company again in the future.
