Fun Historical Fact H.T. Cushman Manufacturing was based in North Bennington, Vermont, and became one of the notable American furniture makers associated with New England craftsmanship. Although Cushman began producing furniture in the late 19th century, the company became especially known for its Colonial-inspired furniture, including the popular Colonial Creations line introduced in 1933. That line was designed by Herman DeVries and helped define Cushman’s recognizable blend of rounded edges, practical forms, and warm maple finishes.
