Description: Vibrant and emotionally evocative, this original serigraph titled “And Together We Rise” is a powerful example of mid-century abstract expression by Nigerian artist Muraina Oyelami. Created in the 1960s, the composition features layered geometric forms and stylized figures rendered in bold, textured colors that radiate warmth and solidarity. This limited edition print (109/275) is signed, titled, and embossed by the artist, and remains in its original vintage condition, professionally framed with a gilt brass frame and linen matting. Oyelami, a founding member of the Osogbo Art Movement, is celebrated for bridging traditional Yoruba storytelling with modernist aesthetics.
Fun Fact: Muraina Oyelami was not only a visual artist but also a musician and actor with the Duro Ladipo Theatre Company, making his work uniquely infused with rhythm and cultural narrative.
