Fun Historical Fact: J.B. Van Sciver was one of America’s oldest furniture manufacturers, originally founded in the late 1800s and later becoming known for its sophisticated Mid-Century collections during the 1950s–60s. The company blended traditional craftsmanship with modern silhouettes, allowing them to compete with major names like Drexel and Lane during the MCM boom. Many Van Sciver pieces were sold through their massive showrooms on the East Coast, making them a staple in mid-century American homes.
