Mid Century Modern Walnut Mirror, c.1960's

Description: This 1960's Mid Century Modern wall mirror features a walnut frame with an eye-catching geometric Greek key design along the upper border. The darker carved detailing adds visual depth while giving the otherwise streamlined rectangular silhouette a distinctive architectural quality. Original mirror glass remains in place, preserving an important element of the piece's vintage character. The walnut frame was meticulously refinished by our Los Angeles restoration studio with careful attention to the construction, surface, and original design. With its warm wood tones and graphic detailing, the mirror works beautifully above a console, dresser, or entryway table.

Fun Historical Fact

The Greek key pattern has been used in decorative arts for thousands of years and is closely associated with ancient Greek design. Its repeating angular form later became popular in European and American furniture and architectural decoration. Designers during the mid-20th century often incorporated historic geometric motifs into otherwise streamlined furnishings. This combination of classical ornament and modern simplicity gives pieces like this mirror their distinctive character.
