Description: This American Mid-Century Modern round side table, dating to the 1960's, combines a warm wood base with a richly patterned marble top. Its sculptural base features four gently splayed supports joined by a circular lower shelf, creating an open and balanced silhouette while providing additional display or storage space. The substantial round marble top introduces natural variation and a refined contrast against the warm tones of the wood. Meticulously refinished by our Los Angeles restoration studio, the table was carefully restored with attention to its construction, finish, stability, and original design character. Fun Historical Fact

During the 1960's, American furniture makers increasingly incorporated contrasting natural materials into modern furniture, pairing warm woods with stone, metal, glass, and other surfaces. Marble was particularly effective in occasional tables because its distinctive veining made each stone top visually unique. Mid-century designers also frequently used splayed and tapered supports to give furniture a lighter, more dynamic appearance.
