Fun Historical Fact The Stickley brothers were instrumental in spreading the Arts & Crafts ethos throughout the United States, and their workshops in Syracuse and Fayetteville, New York, became synonymous with Mission furniture. At the same time, California was experiencing its own Arts & Crafts renaissance, with Pasadena’s Greene & Greene bringing a distinctly West Coast interpretation that resonated with Stickley’s ideals. Wealthy Los Angeles families furnished their Craftsman bungalows with Stickley pieces, merging East Coast craftsmanship with California architecture.
