Pair of Victorian Revival Brass & Cast Metal Table Lamps with Pink Crystal Prisms, c.1940's

Description: This pair of Victorian Revival table lamps, dating to the 1940's, features ornate brass and cast metal construction accented by distinctive pink glass crystal prisms. Each lamp displays a tall twisted column rising from an elaborate pierced base enriched with scrolling foliate ornament and traditional decorative detailing. The suspended pink prisms introduce jewel-like color and movement, while the new fabric shades provide a soft contrast to the richly detailed metalwork. Newly rewired by our Los Angeles studio, each lamp has also been fitted with a new socket and new shade for reliable functionality while leaving the original decorative character of the lamp bodies unchanged. Their substantial proportions, intricate metalwork, and colorful glass accents make this matched pair an elegant addition to a traditional or collected interior.

Victorian Revival design carried the elaborate decorative vocabulary of the 19th century into later generations of furniture, lighting, and decorative arts.
